Produce






On Amsterdam we slowly but surely built up our own food supplies. By twenty thirteen we had fresh milk every morning, enough free range eggs for our household and for selling. We had our own honey, grass-fed meat, fully functional vegetable garden and some fruits. We made our own by-products such as pastrami, biltong, cheese, yogurt and creamed honey. We even had a few medicinal plants that could cure any flu (if you could get past the horrible taste of course).

On Breedevlei we wish to reach this point of sustainability again very soon. This time around however, we would like to produce enough for the future guesthouses as well - and maybe sell the surplus? Breedevlei's soil and climate will also allow (or challenge?!) us to grow things we haven't been able to grow before.
